Good News Story

New Zealand sea lion cow 'Angel' has given birth! Her pup is one of approximately five annually to be born in The Catlins. Her pup found itself in a bit of trouble and was thankfully aided by Andrea Arango Murrell.

"As I'm about to leave Waikawa I hear a roar. I started filming the wonderful animal before me: a New Zealand sea lion. As I approached I heard a wee exhausted roar coming from the other side. At the beginning I was so overwhelmed that I didn't think about lifting the white panel the sea lion pup was under myself; then I just did it, momi helping momi strength probably. I rescued the pup and it returned to its momi. The three of us cried, making the same noise. Top three on my custom bucket list.. actually on everyone's list should be about helping others, rescuing animals and cleaning the oceans. Love rules the world!!"
