Highlighting Heroes: Catherine Mair

Catherine Mair, my kuia.
Catherine is whaea to 4 tamariki and kuia to 17 mokopuna.
Along with raising 4 tamariki, she worked as a teacher and farmer. She is a renowned haiku poet and received the Queen’s Service Medal for services to poetry and the community in 2008.
My kuia has dealt with Parkinson’s disease as long as I have been alive.
In 2013, my grandparents lost their oldest son Tim.
This Wonder Woman has overcome every obstacle and made it look effortless. ❤️
