While buzzing around for answers about how sustainable beeswax is I encountered the Queen Bee / Owner of The Authentic Honey Co.
"The wax we use for candles is called capping wax. It is the wax cap that seals honey inside the honeycomb cells. When we extract honey the wax cap is cut (or pricked if Manuka honey) so the honey can be spun from the frame. The wax and honey are spun to separate, then the wax is melted down and passed through a fine sieve to remove any impurities. That's it. Beeswax can be remelted over and over again so is never wasted."
"In my opinion beeswax is very sustainable and absolute quality."
