Pink Shirt Day

Today is Pink Shirt Day Aotearoa! The motto is Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying / Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora. Since 2007, Pink Shirt Day has promoted anti-bullying.

Honour Pink Shirt Day by considering:

1) “Each and every one of us has the capacity to be an oppressor. I want to encourage each and every one of us to interrogate how we might be an oppressor and how we might be able to become liberators for ourselves and for each other.” - Laverne Cox

2) “We all move forward when we recognise how resilient and striking the women around us are.” - Rupi Kaur

3) Supporting Taika Waititi and the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand’s anti-racism ‘Unteach Racism’ campaign. The Teaching Council recognises that racism is taught; therefore can be un-taught in schools - and in homes. Go on to https://teachingcouncil.nz/resource-centre/unteach-racism/ to find out more.
