Protect Endangered New Zealand Sea Lion

Thank you to the amazing 1000 + people who have signed my petition on Change.org calling upon the Department of Conservation and Clutha District Council to restrict vehicles on Surat Bay and Cannibal Bay in The Catlins - https://www.change.org/ProtectNewZealandSeaLion.

Why is restricting vehicles on sea lions habitats important?
1) To stabilise the New Zealand sea lion population. We need births to increase, therefore sea lions need to feel safe on mainland New Zealand.
2) Vehicle use in coastal ecosystems cause degradation of the environment, disturbance and exploitation of wildlife.

Updates on my progress are:
1) The New Zealand Sea Lion Trust have acknowledged they have heard our message. The New Zealand Sea Lion Trust and SEA SOCIETY have joined alliances to protect sea lions in Otago/Southland.
2) The Department of Conservation have acknowledged they have heard our message and are formulating a plan to protect wildlife in Southland.
