Q. Alex when did you establish Revology and what was the inspiration behind it?
A. We opened our first Concept Store in Wanaka in February 2020, one month before COVID lockdown, not ideal timing but if we can survive this, we can survive everything. In 2015, as a design studio to design the Revology chair made of Flax fibre and bio-based resin. This project has been a long development, almost 4 years of research and development and large investments, as no one managed to transform flax with complex and hollow shapes. The inspiration behind it was to try to reinvent an object inspired from the past, timeless and made of beautiful materials and as much as possible using the circular economy principle. Means design to last, evolve and be repaired. We have started with the chair and are developing a urban bike to try to solve major problems in the urban mobility market.
