Somewhat Green / Part Two

Q: When did you establish Somewhat green / Kankis.nz and what was the inspiration behind it?

A: (Tracey) In November 2020, The Old Market Garage started and Somewhat Green had a stall in the building. I met Claudia at one of the other stall holders that sold Latin American products. After 6 months, we both wanted to develop our businesses, so we joined together and moved into the next building. Claudia opened a café and I opened Somewhat Green on the other side of the building. We are in our second week.

(Claudia) I am a happy entrepreneur and I established Kankis (which is a special name from my niece) because the Latin American community didn’t have a place where they could get the products they wanted to make food from their countries. It took me a year to develop it and I started in the first lockdown and delivered products to customers. In November 2020, I started in The Old Market Garage and now have my café at 156 Tay Street with Tracey from Somewhat Green.
