Ten Tips To Reduce Waste

1) Eradicate single use plastic. Purchase recyclable grocery bags, a drink bottle, straws and a coffee cup. Check out brands CaliWoods, JOCO Cups and SUP NZ.
2) Buy in bulk where possible. Inquire at your local supermarket or community notice board.
3) Take along your own containers to the Supermarket, Butchers, Takeaway Restaurants and Vets.
4) Swap bottled hair care for hair bars. Swap bottled skin care for skin bars. Check out local brands Dirty Hippie, Ethique and Go Native. Purchase one of Go Native's DIY Kits and create your own hair and skin bars and cosmetics.
5) Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Instead of throwing away unwanted or damaged garments, repair your garments or forward on.
6) Parents join your local toy library for a cheaper alternative than purchasing toys.
7) If your property allows, produce your own food. Purchase seeds and grow your own vegetables. Plant fruit trees. Check out SeedBox for inspiration.
8) If your property allows, adopt chickens - not only do they produce eggs, their litter is beneficial to your soil and they make good pets.
9) Buy local to reduce the carbon footprint.
10) Purchase a bicycle, to serve yourself, the environment and your pocket cycle locally.
