Best Fish Guide

According to Fish & Game New Zealand in 2017 75% of New Zealanders were very concerned about water pollution.
We have reason to be.

What causes water pollution?

Increased population equates to decreased water quality; for example the Auckland Region boasts New Zealand's largest population and according to the Ministry for the Environment currently 62% of Auckland's waterways are graded 'poor'.
Another leading cause is agricultural and litter runoff into our waterways. Other contributors are pest invasions, urban developments and climate change.
Due to water pollution, the quality and quantity of fish is decreasing.
In 2017 Forest & Bird released their Best Fish Guide. Read to learn the seafood that is safest to consume.
