Canterbury / Part Two
Romantique Akaroa. Akaroa and the Bays is located on the Banks Peninsula and was colonised by Māori in 1830. It was the only French settlement in New Zealand, who arrived in August 1840.
A couple of my favourite spots in Akaroa are:
One: Akaroa Harbour.
Two: Akaroa Lighthouse, which was moved from the Akaroa heads to Beach Road by the Akaroa Lighthouse Preservation Society.
Three: French street names.
Four: Rue Jolie street.
