Safety Around Sea Lions

Witnessing our indigenous sea lions in their natural habitat is a privilege. Sadly, they are classified as "Endangered" on IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
My tips for safety around sea lions are:
1) Give the New Zealand sea lion (and all wildlife) a wide birth.
2) Do not get between the ocean and sea lions, as they will feel threatened.
3) Walk, do not drive your vehicles on to their habitats/beaches.
4) Sit/crouch nearly / make yourself smaller to appear non-threatening.
