SEA SOCIETY x Sustainable Coastlines

Sustainable Coastlines Ben and Joy and I made the most of Southland’s shine and completed two Litter Intelligence Rubbish Surveys at Waituna Lagoon and Toetoes Bay. We collected plastic and shotgun wads.

Afterwards we surveyed Noki Kaik Beach at Sandy Point and collected one sackful of rubbish: including plastic, shotgun wads, rope, shoes and part of a buoy. Unfortunately we were unable to collect all of the copious rubbish at Noki Kaik Beach; we were left pondering where is it coming from?

Volunteering is rewarding. Help to preserve your favourite beach by participating in a future SEA SOCIETY and Sustainable Coastlines Rubbish Survey. Check out https://sustainablecoastlines.org/events/ for more information.
