I conveniently was travelling through Oamaru when I was notified. After assessing the situation, Georgie from the Blue Penguin Colony and I set up cones to deter passersby and I contacted Jordana and Amanda from the
New Zealand Sea Lion Trust.

The mainland population of New Zealand sea lions gives birth to approximately 20 pups annually. It is a privilege to witness a New Zealand sea lion pup and their safety is paramount.
